Ottawa Airport welcomes the University of Ottawa Heart Institute as the next organization featured in their YOW Showcase
February is Heart Month, and the perfect time for the Ottawa International Airport Authority to announce that the next participant in the YOW Showcase is the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI).
The YOW Showcase was established in 2017 to provide a high-traffic location in the terminal in which to showcase local centres of excellence, institutions and events that contribute to the fabric of the region, and make Ottawa-Gatineau a great place to live, work, and play. Past participants include Ottawa 2017, Ross Video and Searidge Technologies Inc.
The UOHI display features an interactive kiosk that will first showcase the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation while raising awareness for Heart Month and the work the Foundation does in support of the Institute. The Foundation is the bridge between the generous donors from our community and the exceptional work of the UOHI; the kiosk offers the opportunity to tell the Heart Institute story and engage the greater community. Content will change in March to highlight the excellent work the UOHI is doing to advance research, improve treatment and save lives.
“We are delighted for the opportunity to work with the Ottawa International Airport Authority and the YOW Showcase,” said Jim Orban, President and CEO of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation. “The kiosk represents an innovative extension to our overall communications strategy to inform the community that the Heart Institute is a place of healing, learning and caring and that our success is directly related to their generous support.”
“The University of Ottawa Heart Institute is a world-class facility that is consistently at the leading edge of research, women’s heart health, and the development of innovative treatments for myriad cardiac issues,” said Mark Laroche, President and CEO of the Ottawa International Airport Authority. “Their unwavering commitment to improving the health of residents in Canada’s Capital Region and beyond embodies the very essence of the YOW Showcase.”
The YOW Showcase is located in Arrivals on level 1 of the passenger terminal building, and is provided at no cost to participants. The UOHI kiosk will be in place for the next six months.
