Online retailers ‘Pop up’ in Ottawa Airport for two days

Published on June 9, 2016

The Ottawa International Airport and Shopify are playing host to ShopiFLY, a two-day pop-up shop looking to motivate visitors to become entrepreneurs! The storefront will feature nine Canadian Shopify merchants today and tomorrow: Camp Brand Goods, Dogwood Coffee, Drunken Sailor, Explorer’s, Peace Collective, Province of Canada, Raised by Wolves, The Most Canada and Woodlot.

From the Airport Authority’s perspective, this is great use of temporary space, and a great opportunity to partner with and showcase a local company that is thriving in its own market.

“Shopify employees are frequent visitors of the airport and it's a pleasure to participate in one of their hack days projects, while bringing some attention to the merchants using their platform," said Mark Laroche, Authority President and CEO. He added, "it's also fun for our passengers to explore something new and different when they're travelling through YOW".

“This pop-up with YOW is truly unique and one-of-a-kind," said Harley Finkelstein, Chief Operating Officer at Shopify. “Our goal is to inspire thousands of daily travellers to quit their day jobs and go live their dreams by starting a business. We'll be featuring products from Canadian Shopify merchants to show that it can be done."

ShopiFLY is located on level 3 (departures) and will be open both days from 4:30 am to 10 pm.
