Bruce Lazenby
At Large
Upon graduation from the Royal Military College with a degree in Economics and Commerce, Bruce proceeded to jet pilot training. He later transferred to the Logistic Corps and served two tours with the United Nations Blue Berets in the Middle East, two tours at sea on Canadian warships (where he was Supply Officer and Diving Officer) and several tours in Canada, including the Canadian Arctic. He retired after twenty years of service and joined the private sector.
Bruce enjoyed an interesting and varied career in senior leadership and coaching positions in technology and finance, notably being selected as the founding CEO of Invest Ottawa. During his five years in the role, he helped develop and execute economic development growth strategies for the City of Ottawa and the National Capital Region.
After a brief stint in commercial real estate, he is now semi-retired as an Executive Coach and advisor to Boards and businesses. Bruce joined the Authority’s Board of Directors in 2022 as an At Large member and sits on the Human Resources and Compensation, and Major Infrastructure and Environment committees.
His contributions have been celebrated several times over the years, including being named Canadian Business Leader of the Year, Canadian Innovation Community Leader of the year, and Honorary Member of the University of Ottawa Alumni Association.
He and his wife have three children, three grandchildren, and they are still counting.
