Want to work at the Ottawa Airport? YOW to Host Job Fair

Published on August 15, 2022

The Ottawa Airport Authority is helping its airport partners find and recruit new talent as the air travel industry recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Staffing shortages are affecting many industries, especially all aspects of travel and tourism; YOW has been impacted across the airport campus. To help our partners and to expose the general public to the kinds of jobs and careers that are available in the aviation industry, the Airport Authority has organized a one-day job fair to bring prospective employers together with job seekers.

“We put the idea to our tenants and partners to gauge their interest in an event, and were overwhelmed with the positive response. Many are actively recruiting but encountering challenges along the way. The Authority itself has more than 20 positions to fill,” said Airport Authority President and CEO, Mark Laroche. “We hope that by offering a one-stop opportunity for job seekers to learn about the airport and what it has to offer in terms of employment, we and our partners will find the right talent. It’s all about helping everyone succeed and building for the future.”

The event will bring the Airport Authority together with airlines, ground handlers, food and beverage providers, retailers and government agencies responsible for activities such as administration, heavy equipment operation, security screening, customs processing, and air traffic control. There will be an array of opportunities, with employers offering flexible schedules, competitive benefits and room for growth. More information about the Authority’s positions and the job fair can be found at yow.ca/jobs.
