Ottawa will play host to the North American Leaders’ Summit (NALS) on Wednesday, June 29th. With the arrival and departure of U.S. President Obama, the Ottawa International Airport will experience operational interruptions and flight delays.

The Airport Authority has the following information and suggestions for passengers, airport employees and visitors:

  • Airport roadways, in particular, the Airport Parkway, will have limitations and/or closures during mid-morning and early evening;
  • Visit Ottawa.ca for all road closure information and updates;
  • Please follow police instructions and temporary airport directional signage for rerouting;
  • There will be flight delays for both arrivals and departures;
  • Passengers should plan to arrive at the airport 2-3 hours prior to their flight to accommodate roadway delays; and
  • Passengers should check with their carrier or at yow.ca for flight status information.

Passengers, employees and visitors will see a stronger than normal police presence in and around the airport. There will be no viewing areas available for the general public on the airport campus, and as such, the Authority recommends that only those who are scheduled to fly or who have airport business travel to the airport on the 29th.

The Airport Authority would like to thank the community for its cooperation and understanding.
